22 Students Graduate from ASMC Intake 7

The Zimbabwe Olympic Committee was pleased to certify the most recent graduating class of the Olympic Solidarity funded Advanced Sport Management Course (ASMC) this weekend at the ZOC Headquarters. 22 graduates from 16 organizations completed the intake over seven one-week sessions during the past year.

ZOC President Mr. Admire Masenda delivered the remarks on behalf of the organization, commenting on the program’s 126 graduates (82% graduation rate) since inception in 2008 and the accountability to Olympic Solidarity as a leader in the region and the continent.

The Keynote Address was given by former ZOC CEO Mr. Robert Mutsauki who spoke of ASMC as a “critical investment in human resources for the successful management of (ZOC) member organizations”.

Humphrey Chigwedere gave the graduating class remarks for Intake 7. Best Student was awarded to Stephen Mudawarima and Lazarus Chatukuta was named Most Improved Student.

The Advanced Sport Management Course allows executive-level staff and volunteers at Olympic Sport Organizations to expand their skills be learning how to more effectively manage their respective organizations and improve Olympic Sport as a whole. The students take classes in Strategic Management, Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and Event Management.

ASMC is currently managed by Program Director Mr. Titus Zvomuya, Chairman of the ZOC Sport Education, Leadership & Research Commission, and delivered by Course Facilitators Mr. Edward Siwela, ZOC CEO Ms. Anna Mguni, and Zimbabwe Olympic Academy Director Mrs. Eugenia Chidhakwa. Special thanks as well to Director of Ceremonies Mr. Addison Chiware.
