Ministry of Sport, Arts & Culture fully behind Team Zimbabwe

The Ministry of Sport, Arts & Culture (MoSAC) gave the official send-off for Zimbabwe’s 2014 Youth Olympic Team earlier today in downtown Harare.

Acting Director Tendai Tagara introduced Chef de Mission Titus Zvomuya, Young Ambassador Rukudzo Gona, and the 15 athletes and officials to attending Ministry Officials, Media members, and distinguished guests.

Honourable Deputy Minister Tabetha Kanengoni-Malinga gave the send-off remarks for MoSAC, pledging the Ministry’s full confidence in Team Zimbabwe’s young athletes in Nanjing and commitment to youth sport development and participation in the country.

A vote of thanks for the Ministry’s commitment and support was delivered by Zimbabwe Olympic Committee CEO Anna Mguni.

The 2014 Youth Olympics are scheduled for 16-28 August in Nanjing, China.  Team Zimbabwe will depart 11 August, in time for final preparation and training at Nanjing venues and facilities.
