Strong Start for Team Zimbabwe at Youth Olympics
Team Zimbabwe is off to a great start at the Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China with strong performances in Triathlon, Rowing and Swimming on Day One.
Serena Rendell posted a Personal Best time of 1:10:10 to finish 31st in the Women’s Triathlon Final.
In Rowing, Daniella Du Toit came 2nd in Heat 2 of the Junior Women’s Single Sculls with a time of 3:53.74. Kyle Hinde finished Heat 1 of the Junior Men’s Event in 3:38.02. Both athletes advance to the Repechages.
Robyn Lee finished 2nd in Heat 1 of the 100M Backstroke Preliminaries in 1:07.27.
Scheduled for Day Two in Nanjing are Drew Williams in the Men’s Triathlon Final, and Daniella Du Toit and Kyle Hinde in the Rowing Repechages who will be looking to advance into the Semi-Finals.
